Yesterday was 8 August 2008, all of us ended work early so as to come back home to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics. We sat by the TV at 8 pm and watched all the way till 11pm. After that I suggested karaoke-ing so we proceeded to the most famous KTV place in SHanghai... CashBox(a.k.a Qian Gui) opened by Partyworld. I expected to see like a normal shopping centre and the KTV place located on one of the levels. In the end... the WHOLE buidling belonged to them. And initally we thot we came to wrong place cos it was like a hotel. Super posh la... come in still got pple open door for u one. But it was SUPER EXPENSIVE!! Okay maybe not that expensive.. comparable to prices in Singapore for K Box but definitely nicer atmosphere and ambience but we came to China to get things cheaper mah.. so we left for Hao Tian Di instead. It was like RMB 180 (SGD 30+) to sing from 12am till 6am. There were 4 of us, me, chiongster, da ge and teddy-mon (too bad uncle cld not join us since he's on night shift ): ) So its only about SD 13 per person... for 6 HOURS OF SINGING ON A FRIDAY NIGHT LEHZZ!!! Cheap right? Haha but the guys were so not high cos unlike me they didn get to nap in the afternoon... heh heh
So Teddymon fell asleep on the sofa.. took this secretly..

More photos of us karaoke-ing..

Okies dats all for now.. its 4.55 am and i gotta catch a train tomorrow to Hangzhou.. got to go sleep. Gd Nite to all my friends... miss u guys... esp my brother....

Wow! I cant wait to experience this for myself authentic Karaoke. I'm traveling to China, Korea and Japan next summer and want to learn as much as i can before i go.
A friend of mine said that karaoke is an essential part of Japanese culture so i have invested in my own machine. it also comes in handy at house party's and special occasions. I got a customised CDG Karaoke disc made up for our halloween party.
Were there any specific songs that I should know or artists that are really popular out there?
